3.4 Morning Reception

Good Morning :)
Today is the last day before the Easter Holidays!
I know this Easter is going to be a bit strange because we wont be able to do all the things we would normally do during the school holidays. The most important thing over the next two weeks is to look after yourselves, try and have lots of fun and keep your selves busy at home.
This will be my LAST DAILY post until Monday 20th April. I already Miss you lots I will miss you even more!
Later today I shall upload a separate post containing loads of activities, websites and links to free printable resources for you to use over the next two weeks. I will keep an eye on my emails and on tapestry so you could keep uploading any great activities that you do!

Here are your activities for today.

Are you ready for the day ahead? Wake yourself up with Joe Wicks or GoNoodle - My favourite is Maximo!

1. Fill in your weather chart
which  was the most frequent type of weather? Finish the sentences.
e.g It was sunny the most. It was cloudy  least (IF ONLY)

It was _______ the most.
 It was _______  least.
My favourite type of weather is ________ because ______.

Don't forget finger spaces, a full stop at the end. Try and keep your writing a consistent size and write neatly on the lines!! No being a lazy bones on your presentation because you are at home! ;)

2. Sing the days of the week song (to the tune of the Adam's Family)
It's Monday and it's Tuesday it's Wednesday and it's Thursday it's Friday and it's Saturday and then it's Sunday too days of the week (click x2) days of the week (click x2) days of the week days of the week days of the week (click x2).

Go on a number hunt around your house! Write down all the numbers that you find.
Challenge can you put the numbers in the right order?

3. Find yourself a rock from outside (if no rocks available you could draw one or use some household recycling materials or your pall of playdough etc)
Decorate your rock, give it a face, some hair and a name.

Most importantly please know that I am so grateful for and proud of you for the way you have all engaged with this process of home learning. You are working so hard at home and producing such great work.
Parents thank you for regularly uploading to tapestry, offering suggestions, sending emails, it has been great!

Have a lovely day :)

2.4. Morning Reception

Hello everyone!
Hope you are all well?
Well done for working so hard to complete the daily activities I have been setting for you! It's been great to hear from so many of you and see all the great things you have been doing at home. Keep up the hard work!

Wake up with Dinosaur Yoga or Joe Wicks PE.

Here are your activities for today!

1. My favourite dinosaur.
Think about which is your favourite dinosaur and why?
Write a sentence and draw a picture of your favourite dinosaur.
I like the.....… because…...

Don't forget finger spaces and a full stop at the end. Use your phonic sounds to help you spell the words.

2. What is it?
Play this game with some of your family.
Select several of your favourite toys, place them somewhere everyone can see them. Pick one of these toys and think about it in your head (Don’t tell anyone which toy you’ve chosen) Can you give the other players clues by describing your toy so they can guess which toy you are thinking of?
After you've played the game a few times maybe you could sort your toys by size, colour, material etc.

3.Watch this 3d shape song on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=guNdJ5MtX1A
Then Join in with some of your favourite number rhymes from https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/school-radio/nursery-rhymes-songs-index/zhwdgwx

Don't forget to fill in your weather chart and complete another activity from the grid on your homework bingo sheet.
Leave me a comment on the class blog https://ctkrec.blogspot.com/

Have a good day!
Miss Letherby

1.4 Morning Reception

Good Morning!
How are you today? I hope you and your families are well?
I'm glad I can still see all the lovely work you are doing from home!
Here are your activities for today.
Wake yourself up with your morning exercise! Joe Wicks PE or GoNoodle on YouTube.
Or try the dinosaur Yoga poses, which did you find easiest/most challenging? (see picture)

1. Phonics challenge.
Add the sound ‘ar’ to make the words.
st__ st'ar' = star
c__
f__m
p__k
__m
j__
d__k
sh__p
b__k
Can you write one of these words in a short sentence? Don't forget to leave finger spaces between words and a full stop at the end of your sentence.
2. Bubble Snakes!
I love this activity its one of my favourites! (See Picture)
All you need to do is ...
Pour some washing up liquid into a shallow container with a little bit of water and gently mix. Cut an end off an old plastic bottle and place a sock over this end.
Dip the sock covered bubble blower into the solution and gently blow. Watch what happens!
You could add some food colouring to the bubble snakes. The kids dropped the food coloring onto the sock covered end. BE WARNED DO NOT GET THIS ON YOUR FURNITURE IF YOU USE FOOD COLOURING! Should you use it you may want to play outside.

3.Using some 3d shapes that you can find around your house can you build a model? I wonder what you will build? Maybe a dinosaur, a castle, a tower. Can you name the different 3d shapes you used. (These could be household items)

*Don't forget to fill in your weather chart!
You may also want to practice a phonics game on the phonics play website. Log in details in previous post.
Complete one activity from you home learning pack.
I have also attached number practice sheet for any children who may need help forming numbers. if you are able to print please do.
Have a lovely day :)
