25.3 Hello Reception

Good Morning Reception,
How is everybody? It's another lovely day filled with sunshine so why not spend some time outside in the garden learning today if you can?

1. Phonics
Play a phase 2 (orange) or phase 3 (purple) game on phonics play.

Let me know which game you played!

You could also practice spelling your tricky words or flashcards outside using a pot of water and an old paintbrush and painting them on the concrete with the water.

2.Dens
Design and build your very own den. What will you use to build your den?
Inside your den you could, play a game, read a book, have your lunch, draw a picture, write a letter to give to one of your friends from school.

3. Teddy Bears Picnic
Grab all your favourite teddies/toys and arrange a teddy bears picnic!
Find some household items which you could have at your picnic. Can you sort them by colour, size?
Can you share your items with your teddies? Who has the most/ fewest?
Can you think of some word problems eg if blue bear has 3 and green bear has 2 they have 5 altogether.
Blue bear had 5 grapes she ate 4 now she has 1 left.
CHALLENGE can you write some of these problems as a number sentence eg 2+3=5   5-4=1.

Lots of you have been working hard to complete the activities I have set so far this week but if there are any you haven't completed you could continue to work on those. Planting a seed, shadow art activity.

Additionally try to do five minutes reading each day as we would always recommend. There is free access to the Collins big cat ebooks which you can access here for some online reading books.

Each day I will upload some pictures onto our class blog page https://ctkrec.blogspot.com/     and some pictures from each class will also be shared on our school Facebook page.
Thank you everyone!
Have a fun filled day :)

Today's Reflection
Good evening everyone,
Just wanted to share with you some of the amazing learning that has been taking place.

  • I can see from all your pictures how much time and effort you are putting into your learning at home. You are thinking of fantastic ways to share your learning with your families- well done!
  • Some of you have been really taking this opportunity to develop other very important skills. Well done to those of you who have been exercising each day - this important to stay fit and healthy. I see some of you have been planting seeds and helping your parents with the gardening, cooking and preparing food and some of you have even been practicing using scissors - this is a great skill!
Thank you for all the hard work and effort you are putting into completing the tasks set with such enthusiasm. You are doing a truly fantastic job :)

Here are some pictures from the last two days!
