Hello Reception

Good morning everybody,
It feels very strange not being in school together on this Monday morning, I am missing you all already.
It's been a lovely weekend I hope you have had a lovely time doing nice things at home?

Here are your 3 tasks for today!

1. SHADOW ART
Its a beautiful day today, grab one of your favourite toys (something small, maybe a toy car, a small toy animal, or even an object) a piece of paper and a pencil. Take these three things outside, put your piece of paper down somewhere in the sunlight, place your object on top of the paper (you may need something solid to lean on) what do you notice? The object is blocking the sunlight which is causing a shadow. Draw around the shadow and you will end up with a fantastic picture of your object which you can then colour in. (See picture for help)

2. DINOSAURS
Look at a picture of a T-Rex

Think of words to describe the T-Rex e.g sharp teeth, strong, big, scary, fierce, loud, heavy, fast.
Can you write simple sentences to describe the dinosaur.
E.g The T-Rex is big and strong. It has sharp teeth.

REMEMBER TO USE YOUR SOUNDS AND LEAVE FINGER SPACES BETWEEN WORDS.

You could repeat this activity using images of other dinosaurs we have learnt about in class. (Stegosaurus, Pterodactyl, Triceratops, T-Rex, Plesiosaurus, Spinosaurus, Velociraptor, Apatosaurus/Brontosaurus, Brachiosaurus)

3. Watch the tricky word songs on you tube

Also remember to practice your phonics using the phonics play website or your flashcards and tricky words in your book bags. You could practice spelling these tricky words too. Read one of your reading books in your book bag and complete an activity of your choice from the reception class homework bingo grid.

Good Luck
I look forward to seeing how you get on.
Miss Letherby
