Tuesday 28.4

Hello Reception,
How are you today? Hope you are all well and getting on OK with the home learning activities.
Where has the the sunshine gone?

Remember to keep uploading and/or just leave me a comment on my daily post to say hello.

Here are your activities for the day!

P.E
The learning station (YouTube) there was a crocodile action song.

Phonics/ Reading
Phase 4
Each day there will be a phonics video available to watch. Click the link and join  in here. Scroll down until you find the reception video for the day. (Uploaded at 10am)

Writing
Imagine you are on the train ride. Draw a scene from the train window.
Write simple sentences describing what you can see from your window.
eg.
I can see tall trees in a field.
I can hear heavy rain falling down.

Maths
Day 2 - Night Pirates
Walk the plank, floating or sinking.
Watch video and complete the activities

Select a number of items up to 10. Investigate which ones float and which ones sink.
Sort them into two groups. Objects that float and objects that sink. How many floated? How many sank? Which group has more and which has less? What is the difference between the amount in your groups?

Creative activity
DIY string telephones.
To make the phones use foam or paper cups, yoghurt pots or tin cans. You will need string and paint/ crayons for decoration.
Instructions:
  1. Cut a long piece of string, you can experiment with different lengths.
  2. Poke a small hole in the bottom of each cup.
  3. Thread the string through each cup and tie knots at each end to stop it pulling through the cup (alternatively you can use a paper clip, washer or similar small object to hold the string in place).
  4. Move into position with you and a friend holding the cups at a distance that makes the string tight (making sure the string isn't touching anything else).
  5. One person talks into the cup while the other puts the cup to their ear and listens, can you hear each other?

Monday Morning 27.4

Good Morning Reception,
How are you all? Did you have a good weekend? What fun things did you get up to?
Thank you for all your kind birthday wishes, messages and cards that you made - they were so lovely and I really appreciated it. You are so kind and I am missing seeing you.
I shared an overview of the week with you on Friday so hopefully this provides you with a bit of insight into the week ahead.

Here are your activities for the day.

P.E
It's important to keep active. Create an obstacle course outside and complete it. What is the quickest time you can complete your course?

Practice your flashcards and tricky words.
Go to new.phonicsplay.co.uk and play (phase 4) Dragons Den.

To make this activity more interesting you could make your name with loose parts (e.g pieces of lego, cotton buds, marbles, stones etc) or you could write it with chalk, on a tray with salt or flour, you could paint it, rainbow write it with different coloured pens/pencils.

Activity 3

Remember, please respond very regularly so I know that you are ok. Uploading pictures regularly to tapestry is a great way for you to share your learning with me. Then I can upload these to the blog at the end of each day. Even if it's just that you like or add a comment to my post to say hello it would be great to hear from you all.

Thank you to everyone who has been in regular contact, it's lovely to hear from you and you are doing an amazing job!

I look forward to hearing from you throughout the day :)
Have a super day.
