Literacy

Label a boat, car and or plane. If you have a toy version of these you could create labels
for the different parts of the toy.
Otherwise you could draw and label a picture or print a picture from online.

Maths/ Creative learning

Today I have combined your Maths and Creative activity as they fit well together.
Day 4 - Night Pirates

Watch video and then complete the activities.

A floating ship and a pirate flag.

Now you know which types of materials will float and which will sink its time to create your own pirate ship that can hold 5 pieces of treasure!!!

Can you design your very own flag? You could use a large piece of paper or small if you want to use it on your pirate ship. You could use old cloth or a t-shirt and a broom stick to make an enormous flag.

Can you make it symmetrical?

Have a good day :)

Today’s Reflection
I am really missing you!
Seeing how happy you are doing all these great things at home makes me really happy!
Today I’ve seen lots of amazing flags for your pirate ships, some great transport labelling, and some more fantastic models. You guys are little stars 🌟  and I am very proud to be your teacher!

Here’s what you’ve been doing today!

You’ve been practicing your phonics and reading and answering questions about the book.

Wednesday 29.4

Good Morning everyone,
It's been so lovely hearing from lot's of you this week :) I'm glad to hear that you are all well and to see you have been working hard on the tasks. It's been a rainy couple of days so if you go out for a walk you might want to put your wellies on. (Then you can jump in all the puddles).

To lighten the dreary mood I have a joke to share with you...

What do you call a sleeping dinosaur?
A dino-snore 😂

Do you have a (appropriate) joke to share?

(You could link this activity to the second Maths activity if you would prefer)

Maths
Day 3 - Night Pirates
Watch video and then complete the activities.
Complete the treasure hunt using picture clue cards which you have created and focus on using positional language, infornt of, behind, underneath, next to etc.

Here is a link to the night pirate story if you want to listen to it.

Creative
Cutting skills
It is a really important skill that children are able to hold scissors correctly.
This is something children in reception can find challenging - they only have little hands after all.
However now is a great time to practice and its a good way of developing those muscles in the hand!
Remind them to be safe with scissors.
Ask your child how we carry scissors safely - they have been taught this in school.

Draw straight and wavy lines across paper, thin cardboard and other recyclable materials.

Support them to hold scissors effectively.
Allow your child time to cut and stick different resources together - they could make something?

Other fun things they could practice cutting with scissors.
Cut cooked spaghetti, grass, roll out playdough and cut. Kitchen roll tube man, sun, flower,
spiral snake.
