Tuesday 21.4
Good Morning Reception,
How are you all today? It's another lovely, sunny day today so try and spend some time outside enjoying it.
Don't forget to start your day with some exercise! You could try another cosmic yoga workout or complete something you have done before.
Please remember to complete the activities set out below! Don't forget to send me pictures.
Activity 1 - Reading
Our story this term would have been the train ride. You can listen to the story and look at the pictures by clicking on this link.

When you have listened to the story answer the following questions.
1. Which type of transport did they use for their journey?
2. What did they see on their journey? Name 3 things.
3. What colour was the train?
4. What was it like when they went through the tunnel?
5. Who did they see at the end of the journey?
6. Which words are repeated throughout the story?
7. How do you think the child felt on the journey and why?
This is a story that could be read over the next few days so your child can join in with the repeated parts of the story and learn to retell the story themselves.
Activity 2 Maths
Start off your maths activity with Spiderman count to 100.

Today I would like you to create a repeating pattern. You could use your toys, pegs, shapes, clothes, coloured patterns, objects from the house or garden or even your body to make sounds.
You should make an AB pattern ( a pattern of two) and then an ABC pattern (pattern of three).
For example your AB pattern might be clap your hands then nod your head, clap, nod, clap, nod.
or Red, yellow, red, yellow.
Your ABC pattern might be circle, sqaure, triangle, circle, sqaure, triangle.
or leaf, petal, twig, leaf, petal, twig.
Activity 3
I would like you to draw, or make using junk modelling, a type of transport of your choice.
Will you make a train, a boat, a helicopter, a hot air balloon, a bicycle or something else?
Talk about the different parts of your creation. How does it work. What are the different parts? Does it have wheels, doors, windows etc?
Additionally you should read one of your reading books and you could play a phase 3 game on the new phonics play website!
Have a great day!
I look forward to seeing how you get on with these activities.
Today's Reflection
Thank you for posting pictures of your amazing work and well done for working really hard at home.
It has been great to hear from you and see all the fun things you have been doing.
There has been lots of good work so far on transport and the train ride story I shared with you. Some fantastic pictures and lists - well done!
Here are some of the highlights from today's work.
It's been lovely to hear from Lily-Rose and see the fantastic work she has been doing at home!
She wrote about different types of transport, designed a lovely heart for the people she loves and has been practicing her writing and maths too!
Callum has been working hard learning about transport and has been enjoying playing football in the garden with his dad! I really like your train picture.
Kamil created a fantastic model using junk modelling resources. Can you guess which type of transport he made? He has also read the Train Ride story and has created a repeating pattern.
Lily has been busy with her exercise, numbers and has been naming different types of transport.
Manna has been practicing her colouring, phonics and drew a car.
Phoebe has been working hard to create her own transport model, and helped her big sister learn about Nigeria.
Well done!
Have a lovely evening, enjoy the sunshine and have something yummy for your dinner.
