Good Morning Reception,
How are you?
Did you have a good weekend?
I wonder what you have been getting up to?
The weekend went so quickly!
Please remember to upload your pictures to tapestry or email them to me if you can't upload to tapestry! I will be contacting you to make sure you are well if I haven't heard from you!
Here are your activities for today!
PE
Wake your selves up with some exercise.
Join Joe Wicks for his daily PE session at 9am.
Literacy
Read ‘The Naughty Bus’ on YouTube narrated by Mrs Harrison.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJlLXoaglow
This fun story tells the adventures of a little red London bus sometimes told by the narrator and sometimes by the bus itself.
Talk about the story and answer these questions.
Have you ever been on a bus?
Who received a present?
What present did they get?
What colour is the London bus?
Is it the same different to a bus you've seen/been on? Why?
Which page was your favourite and why?
Who took the bus on an adventure?
What did the bus see in the garden?
Was the bus really naughty?
Maths
Patterns in Art
Day 1 - The hungry caterpillar - complete the activities. https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/early-years/
Do you have any books with patterns in?
Look at Kandinsky's pattern? Which shape has he used?
Can you create your own art pattern using circles or another shape?
Road safety -
This afternoon if the weather stays clear why not head out for a short walk?
While you are out for your walk think about how to cross a road safely.
Think about where is a safe place to cross the road - At a crossing (zebra or pedestrian at the lights, where there is a space and not in between parked cars)
Dismount bikes and scooters and push them across the road - do not ride them.
Hold a grown ups hand.
Stop at the end of the kerb. Stop, look, listen
Look right, left then right again.
Cross quickly still looking both ways.
Consider the following things?
What hazards did you see while you were out for a walk?
Why do we walk on the pavement?
Practice safely crossing the road.
If you don't go out for a walk you could do this activity at home. Why not create a pretend road in your house/ garden and practice safely crossing the road.
Here is a fun song you could watch
